Willow's Wish....

My Story

My name is Nicole. I am married and have three wonderful children whom my husband and I have adopted from China. This is my story.

God put Willow on my heart some time ago. Wow! Life is a challenge working full time in management at a mobile phone business, trying to raise three children; my husband works full time and we attend church regularly. Another child? Really? God, you want me to adopt another one? I would love to, but then there’s “the husband”. You’re really gonna have to work on him Lord if this is what you want!

So, I mention it to Chris, my beloved, and hard-working husband of 10 years. Wham! World War III in the making. He was NOT being prompted by God at ALL to adopt a fourth child. Even though we had already decided on her name a long time ago, he just wasn’t buyin’. So, we really went round and round for a few days and were at odds with each other in a big way. I had begun asking my friends to pray for the situation, and for Chris to understand what I was feeling. Being a man, naturally the first thing to come up was the tired old, “we can’t afford to have another child!” How many times have we heard THAT one? We all kept praying. On Father’s Day Sunday, the men at church were given an excellent video to watch; one that really hit ‘em where it hurts…in the heart. Things began to change, a little. We kept talking, but to no avail. Sometime later we started making some headway and decided on a plan of action to become debt free within a year or two at the most. Then we would adopt. Yes!

Things started happening! Our pastor, Bro. Danny Jones began a series of sermons in Romans 8…on guess what subject? You got it, adoption! Wow! Was that a smack in the forehead or what? Chris and I went to the altar on Sunday to pray; we were both emotional. At that point Chris finally got the same message from God that I had already received: “Davis family, there is a little girl in China who needs you. I will put her in your heart and she will become yours. Just like you have become Mine.” WE announced to the church right then and there that we were adopting!

So, I have been even busier than usual. I have set up Willow’s Wishes adoption fund on FaceBook, and have a blog by the same name. I have started selling hand-made soaps and other items (on EBay), and I am taking orders for t-shirts and Chinese Red-Thread bracelets. All proceeds go directly into an account to bring Willow home. And you know what I found out recently? This is how good GOD is when we are in his will: the adoption agency is waiving their fee so it will be even cheaper to bring Willow home! After all, Willow’s WISH is to have a forever home.

If you can’t help by purchasing or donating, please help by praying daily for the Davis family which includes: Chris, Nicole, McKenna, Tommy, Ian, and soon: WILLOW.

Thanks

Nicole

Exodus 22:22 - 23

Never take advantage of any widow or orphan. If you do and they cry out to me, you can be sure that I will hear their cry.
